About Cave and Technical Diver Training
TDI CAVE AND TECHNICAL DIVING COURSES IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN
Learn to be a safe, self reliant and confident Cave and/or Technical Diver!
Not all cave or technical diving courses are created equal. When you put your trust in me as your cave or technical diving instructor, your course will be taught following every standard TDI (Technical Diving International) sets — and then some.
I also teach in the environment you're most likely to actually be diving in, or whichever you're most comfortable with — no matter what, your training reflects real conditions, not a generic template.
Where training happens
Mother Nature blessed the Riviera Maya when she made it. This area is basically Swiss cheese — thousands of cenotes giving access to some of the most spectacular underwater cave systems on the planet, and that's where training happens. Not every cave system is appropriate for training, though — some are too fragile, and I don't put those systems at risk just to run a course. Wherever training happens, I take care to protect these systems, not damage them.
For technical diver training, there are dozens of open water sites right off the coast of Playa del Carmen, letting me run training dives at whatever depth the course calls for. For cave divers who also want to get into decompression (technical) diving, there are plenty of deep caves where that training can happen too.
TDI Intro To Tech
The perfect starting point for divers ready to take their first fin strokes into technical diving.
TDI Sidemount
An increasingly popular configuration, available as a standalone course or paired with Cavern, Intro to Cave, Full Cave, or Advanced Nitrox.
TDI Advanced Nitrox
Build on your gas management skills with nitrox blends up to 100% oxygen, opening the door to decompression diving.
TDI Decompression Procedures
Learn to plan and safely execute dives that require decompression stops, the first real step into technical diving beyond no-decompression limits.
TDI Cavern Diver
The framework for all cavern and cave diving that follows. This is where the fundamentals get built..
TDI intro to cave
This is where you start making actual cave dives, under strict limitations: penetration gas limited to 1/6 of your air supply, no decompression, no jumps, gaps, or complex navigation. That structure lets you focus on the fundamentals — dive planning, communication, and emergency skills — before the stakes go up.
TDI Full Cave
The final step. This is where you prove you're ready to be a full-fledged member of the cave diving community: complex navigation, and proficiency across every aspect of cave diving, under more demanding conditions.
Cavern to Full Cave
The complete progression in one package, from your first fin strokes past the light zone all the way to full cave certification. If you know you're committed to going all the way, this is the most efficient way to get there.
TDI Stage Cave
Go further into the cave, safely. This course teaches experienced cave divers the procedures for planning and running dives that require one, two, or more stage tanks.
