About Cave and Technical Diver Training
TDI CAVE AND TECHNICAL DIVING COURSES IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN
Learn to be a safe, self reliant and confident Cave and/or Technical Diver!
(or teMother Nature truly blessed us when she created the area now known as Riviera Maya. The area is literally like Swiss cheese. What this means for us is thousands of cenotes which give us access to the most magnificent underwater cave systems in the world. This is where our training takes place. The cenotes of the Riviera Maya.
Of course, not all cave systems are appropriate for conducting training dives. Some, due to their fragility are not accessible for conducting . training courses. Regardless of where we conduct our training, much care must be exercised to protect and not damage these systems.
For technical diver training, we have dozens of open water sites right off the coast of Playa del Carmen that allow us to conduct the training dives at whatever depth the dives require. For cave divers who also want to venture into decompression (technical) diving, we have many deep caves where we can also conduct the training dives. This means that no matter what, your courses will be taught in the environment that you are most likely to be diving in or are most comfortable with.
Not all cave or technical diving courses are created equal. When you choose Beyond Diving as your training facility of choice and you put your trust in me as your Cave Diving or Technical Diving Instructor, you can rest assured that yoru course will be taught following all standards (and exceeding them) set forth by the certifying agency TDI (Technical Diving International). Beyond Diving is a TDI 5-Star Instructor Training Facility.
TDI Intro To Tech
The Intro to Tech Course is the perfect starter for divers looking to take their first fin strokes into the awesome world of technical diving.
The TDI Sidemount Diver Course is the ideal specialty for any diver wishing to use this increasingly popular kit configuration either as stand-alone course OR in conjunction with one of TDI’s other open circuit courses such as Cavern, Intro to Cave, Full Cave or Advanced Nitrox to name a few . The course teaches you how to utilize side-mounted primary cylinders as an alternative to the more traditional back-mounted configuration
TDI Advanced Nitrox
Are you looking to expand your time underwater? The TDI Advanced Nitrox course takes your current Enriched Air qualification and turns it up to 11! By the end of the course you will be able to use nitrox mixes up to 100% witihin your current qualification to a max depth of 40 metres during dives that do not require staged decompression
TDI Decompression Procedures
The first actual level of technical diving. This course is designed to teach students how to properly plan and carry out decompression dives with depths of up to 45 metres and up to 100% oxygen for decompression.
TDI Cavern Diver
The cavern diver course is setup to meet two different ends. The first is as a stand alone course for people who want to take a peek inside the caverns in a safe manner.
The second is as the starting point for people who want to continue on to becoming certified as cave divers.
The cavern diver course provides the framework for all cavern and cave diving.
TDI intro to cave
This is where students begin making actual cave dives — under some fairly strict limitations. By limiting penetration gas to 1/6 of air supply, prohibiting decompression and prohibiting any sort of jumps, gaps or complex navigation, we allow students to focus on things like basic dive planning, communication and emergency skills
TDI Full Cave
The final step in the process, the focus here is on gaining additional practice of all fundamental and emergency skills, under more challenging conditions. Students are expected to demonstrate their readiness to be full-fledged members of the cave diving community by doing dives involving complex navigation and proving proficiency in all aspects of cave diving.
TDI Stage Cave
Go further inside the cave, safely! The TDI Stage Cave Diver course is designed to teach experienced cave divers the proper procedures for planning and conducting cave dives for which 1, 2 or more stage tanks are required.
